The 2019 road racing season has drawn to a close, and it was a productive one for our new race team. We saw several members enter their first races, as well as a few veterans coming back to race again this season, wearing the DCC colors for the first time as a team. We even had a few podium finishes on both the women's and men's side. Here's a look at our DCC team members in the year-end USAC rankings for Cat 5 in the state of Michigan:

Congratulations are also in order for our podium finishes for the 2019 year.
Merete Stenersen-Eelnurme took the No 2 spot in two Cat 5 women's Michigan State Championship races this year, at the Cherry Roubaix Road Race State Championship, and at the Hines State Championship Time Trial. Congratulations to Merete on two champion appearances in her first year road racing on the bike!
Marie DeLine took the top Cat 5 women's spot at the Hines State Championship Time Trial. Congratulations to Marie, who is your Cat 5 Women's State Time Trial Champion of Michigan!
Brandon DeLine also took the number 2 spot in the Junior 15-16 division at the Hines State Championship Time Trial. Great job Brandon!
Mike Scannell took the number 2 spot in two Maumee Valley Wheelmen Series Road Races this year, at Scotch Ridge and Woodville, down in Ohio. Great job on two powerful sprint finishes Mike!
And finally, proving that even a blind squirrel can occasionally find a nut, your DCC race team director, Eric Lawson, took 3rd place in the Stage 1 Road Race and Stage 2 Time Trial, as well as 2nd in the Stage 3 Road Race of the White Lake Stage Race in the 45+ Cat 5 division. It was enough to take 2nd overall in the division GC. He also took 3rd place at the Indiana State Championship Time Trial in the Cat 5 division.
Congratulations to all of our racers for a great season, and wishing you all good luck for next year!
Make sure to keep an eye on the DCC's cyclocross racers, who are already having a great go of it this season.
