In the never ending quest for the better cyclocross course, I'm stepping it up tonight and including some construction. If you're not coming out for practice, you're really missing out on the fun.
For those DCC members who have been coming out this year and trying cyclocross for the first time, here's a great chance to try out a race for free! October 9th at the train station in Corktown. This could be an opportunity to try out a race without the seriousness of a USAC event. It should be fun!
https://www.facebook.com/events/796278170474983/ Cross season is in full swing! Come join us for some practice on Tuesday night. Practice starts at 6:00 with some skills and drills. After we're warmed up, we'll do laps on our own course with plenty of turns, barriers, and of course, hills.
We will be at Washago Pond again this week (on the north end of Willow MetroPark). Map is here: http://tinyurl.com/WashagoPond Cross season is in full swing! https://www.facebook.com/DownriverCyclingClub/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1076158519141138 Heads up for anyone planning on cyclocross practice tonight: We'll be at Washago Pond rather than Chestnut. There is a cross country meet tonight in the Chestnut area. Washago Pond is on the north end of Willow MetroPark. See the map: http://tinyurl.com/WashagoPond
What's cyclocross you ask? Well watch this video to find out. Then join us on Tuesday for our own cyclocross practice at Willow Metropark. I'll have a course set-up for practice and we'll even go over some basic skills for beginners starting at 6:00. We had four people who were brand new to cyclocross come out last week, so there is definitely no prior experience required. If you are experienced, there's no need to listen to me: You're free to ride the course until your legs and lungs are done.
Tomorrow, we'll be at the Chestnut sledding hill (same as last week) of Willow Metropark (map link: http://tinyurl.com/WillowChestnut). Skills and drills at 6, ride the course at 6:30, pack up when everyone's done or we're out of light. |
