Sunday Joy Ride
The Hines Drive “Joy Ride” departs from the Parkland Picnic/Recreation area located on Hines Drive. The ride is approximately 30 miles roundtrip, and we plan to do a 14-18mph pace.
This is our recurring weekly Monday "A" paced drop ride (barring mechanicals) leaving from Miller Elementary School in New Boston promptly at 6:15pm or 6:00pm, depending on sunset times. The ride heads out to the North side of Ypsilanti and back in a not-so-direct route. It will cover a 34.5 mile route in a paceline format. The ride rolls at 19.5+ mph pace. Look for this ride between May and September.
Tuesday Night Road Ride from Rockwood. 25-30 mile ride at moderate pace. No drop.
During cyclocross season (September through November), we have weekly practice at Willow MetroPark. Early in the season, we will start practice with a 30 minute clinic for beginners and some drills for those more experienced riders. This will be followed by a practice session on an ad-hoc course, including barriers and big hills.
Parks on Wednesday
The Parks on Wednesday ride travels exclusively on paved trails within the Lower Huron, Willow, Oakwoods Metroparks and Huroc Park in Flat Rock. It is a moderately paced 17mph ride in a no-traffic environment. Enjoy the peaceful sights and sounds of nature as you traverse the serene environment of the Metroparks. This ride is seen from May to September.
Our Winter Wednesdays rides take place from October to April. They typically start at 6:15pm from various locations in the Lower Huron and Willow Metroparks. We utilize a variety of routes to keep it interesting. Riding surfaces will fluctuate between paved park trails, single track, gravel roads and snow, depending on the mood.
This is our fastest paced club ride. We ride a paceline format from Brownstown out to Grace Lake and back. A+ group maintains a pace of 20+ mph and covers about 37 miles. A group and maintains a pace of 18+ mph and covers about 32 miles. This ride is active from May through September.
